Music Servers

O
ur music servers profit from constant developments throughout the computer industry and advances in electronics that bring direct improvements for audiophile music reproduction.

Even though digital music was criticised in the past, often for good reasons, it has now reached exceptional levels of quality. Well executed digital recordings, that benefit from ultra high resolution, now outclass the best analog recordings!

Major improvements have been made in processors, power supplies, digital to analog converters
and digital signal processing. This means that the AudioNec products, Music Server and Speakers now offers major technological advantages in the quality of music reproduction , as well as correction of the listening room acoustic and playback system.

Our server technology guarantees an almost completely jitter and error free playback environment. In fact every musical file is loaded to memory before to be played. This way no motor, no hard disk is spinning when the music is played, as the cooling is entirely passive, there is no noise at all. The result is amazing with downloaded files of uncompressed high resolution music and of course also with transferred CDs. All those who ripped their CDs to our server have discovered them all over again and were astonished to get so much musicality, resolution and information. You will discover new details and nuances in your music you never enjoyed before. You will discover your CDs again and playback quality will not decrease over time! You CD collection is safe from finger prints or even damage to the CD surface, as you access any album or track conveniently from the software interface.

The ultra high end embedded electronics naturally make no compromise to get the highest quality of music and are carefully shielded against interference.

Our servers are fanless and use solid state disk. This way there is no noise from fans or any seek and spin noise from conventional hard disk drives. AudioNec servers are perfectly silent with 0db noise emission. It would simply be inappropriate to have a 143 Db Signal/Noise ratio for the electronics and then disturb the experience with noise or parasitic inductions coming from a fan or even a disk motor or head assembly.

Speakers

Our Speakers are available with a comprehensive dsp system, which enables the dynamic acoustic correction of the audio chain including the listening room.

When a transducer (loudspeaker drive unit) emits a sound, that sound not only reaches your ear but also all the other elements in your listening room within fractions of a second. The sound is usually reflected several times in numerous directions, from walls, windows, the floor, the ceiling, furniture and so forth. It will be to some degree absorbed by carpets, curtains, upholstery and reflected from hard surfaces. All direct and indirect or reflected sounds will interfere with one another and mix with the direct sound arriving at the listening position from the speakers. Unlike recording studios or concert halls, your listening room was generally not designed specifically for the purpose of listening to music.

What about the process of active correction in the digital domain?
During the adjustment stage, the software emits a measurement signal through your loudspeaker tranducers. This signal sweeps the complete audio band, from extremely low to extremely high.

A supplied microphone determines the measurement signal response of the listening room. The software analyses the differences between the measurement sweep signal and the received one, so that it can generate a 'digital correction filter'. This filter is then used during playback to compensate for the computed defects.

The current maturity of these technologies implies that they take psycho-acoustic features into account and that the target curve is not necessarily a perfectly straight line. Indeed, it is generally a curve which gives the listening experience a natural and fluid feeling. That curve can be defined by the skilled user to take his own preferences into account or his listening ability.

This correction comes with a perfect adaptation of transducers. For each frequency, an impulse is issued by the system which measures the time required for the sound wave to reach the measurement microphone, this being done for each loudspeaker. Therafter, the registered time intervals are digitally adjusted, so that your listening benefits from a perfect adaptation of the loudspeaker transducers. The result is a better perceived focus of the various artists and instruments, as well as an enlarged and more stable sound stage.

However, some amount of passive correction of the room using acoustic absorbers or diffusion panels contributes towards better results with our digital room correction system.
